i just plain suck at updating this blog. so much has happened in the last 2 months! and the worst part - i've also not updated Parker's journal in that time. this is my personal resolution to run home from work and give her a nice little update of all the major milestones in the past couple of months. here's a brief re-cap:
- i had a wonderful baby shower that my sisters-in-laws threw for me. it was amazing: the family & friends, the games, the gifts, the CUPCAKES! i definitely felt very loved and spoiled - and Parker is well on her way to being a loved and spoiled little girl!
- we finished Parker's nursery a few weeks ago. it felt like it was never going to get done, but now it's just been sitting there all beautiful and ready and waiting for her - and i'm anxious to fill it! she also has a closet and dresser full of clothes to get her through the next two years. i'm sure we'll have to buy more as she continues to grow and we find out what size she is, but between an overly-zealous grandma-to-be and cousin-hand-me-downs, she is going to be one well-dressed baby!
- two weeks ago, during a routine check-up, we learned Parker was upside down! apparently, too much pie after thanksgiving made her flip, because she had been in "launch position" a week before. after much stress (i was running around to make sure everything was as wrapped up at work as it could possibly be) we scheduled a versioning to manually "flip" her. we had our appointment last week, and they gave me the medicine to make the flipping process more easy and THEN they checked to see what position she was in... and of course the little stinker had flipped herself back around. nick said we need to make sure to record in her journal that she is a punk! but the good news that came out of that was that i got to see another ultrasound of Parker. she definitely has hair, and she curls her little toes, but when they switched to 3D she covered her face with her hands so i still have no idea what my baby girl looks like! i guess we need some surprises left in this world.
tomorrow i have my last weekly scheduled appointment. i'm assuming i'll schedule another one for next week, and we'll just keep on that way until she gets here... which should be in 8 days! but i am hoping for an early arrival. i'm getting really uncomfortable and the work schedule and commute are additional stresses my body and brain don't really need. and really, we're all ready for her - the house is decorated from christmas, we still are waiting for gifts to arrive and be wrapped, but we've finished all of our christmas shopping, our bags are packed, the car seat is installed in the car. all we need now is a baby!
and once parker gets here, we'll probably see some changes to the manifest bauer website. because i'm guessing parker is going to take it over!
